Since its theatrical announcement, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has captured widespread attention. Although actual gameplay footage remains unseen, the game promises intriguing features. Players can explore the lives of two characters, Naoe and Yasuke, and experience varying seasons that transform the game’s environment. Additionally, the game intensifies its focus on stealth, offers a customizable base, and introduces a shinobi league, among other exciting elements.
Ubisoft Toronto hinted at more surprises on the horizon through a recent tweet. The post suggested they've addressed many fan requests and teased further announcements with a cryptic "???" at the end of their message. This could hint at the reintroduction of multiplayer elements, potentially in competitive or cooperative forms.
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag was the series' last to include competitive multiplayer, while Assassin’s Creed Unity featured cooperative play. With a separate multiplayer-focused project also in progress, including co-op gameplay seems likely, though details are sparse.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release on November 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Ubisoft Forward, slated for June 10th, is expected to unveil the gameplay, with hands-on impressions likely following on June 12th.
