Swen Vincke, the head of Larian Studios and director of Baldur’s Gate 3, recently revealed the demanding aspects of the game's development at the Digital Dragons conference in Poland, as reported by GamesRadar. He acknowledged that the team experienced some unforeseen events that added complexity to the project, leading to inevitable periods of intense work, even though they were fewer than in past projects.
Vincke pointed out that although they aim to prevent long working hours, the complex demands of game development occasionally necessitate extending work periods to achieve specific objectives. He noted that the team received compensation for any overtime, and generally, the studios would close by 8 p.m.
Success with Baldur’s Gate 3 has not made the studio complacent. Larian Studios is advancing with new ventures, having announced the development of two games based on its own intellectual properties after confirming that its next game would not involve Dungeons and Dragons. Adding to its growth, Larian has also established a new studio in Warsaw, Poland.
Furthermore, fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 can look forward to more from the game, as Larian Studios is preparing to release official modding tools for the PC version, with a closed beta soon to be launched.
